Seasoned sales leader Paul Dzurec first joined Ideal’s sales job marketplace as a passive candidate. With the luxury of waiting for the right fit, he trusted Ideal’s personality profiling to match him to the role he was looking for.
He accepted an offer as an Inside Sales Manager at EverQuote and within 6 weeks on the job, Paul calls it the “best sales job I’ve ever had.” Read our interview with Paul below.
Why did you choose to sign up with Ideal?
Ideal focuses on sales and sales management, you’re not just a general headhunting agency. This gives you the ability to make a better fit right from the start.
Ideal’s personality profiling is a huge part of determining this compatibility. I think this is a big part of why Ideal is better than other agencies I’ve worked with in the past.
What was your experience with Ideal’s sign up process?
The sign up process was quite simple. The only slight concern I had was, ”What if say the wrong thing on my application?” But if you’re being yourself, you’re going to get connected to a company that works well with your personality and that’s exactly what happened with EverQuote. When I came into the interview, I felt like they already knew who I was and we could get right down to business and it made the interview so much better. Before I left the building, I already had a job offer. I didn’t have to waste any time.
How many sales job matches did you receive from Ideal?
I received 6 or 7 matches.
What do you like about the job that you got hired with Ideal?
It’s a startup but it’s already well-established. Everyone works together: it’s a huge team effort. We’re creating something exciting, everyone’s growing in the same direction, and we’re all working really hard. It’s just a fun environment. They take care of us – they actually want their sales team to do well and that’s not always the case. Another thing is that a lot of agencies will tell you what OTE you’ll make. My Talent Scout told me what I’d be making here and it’s exactly what he said it would be.
I’ve been here for 6 weeks and I’m already making the money they promised I would, which I’ve never seen in a sales organization before.
Based on your experience, would you recommend Ideal to a friend?
How would you describe Ideal in one sentence?
Myers-Briggs style placement for sales jobs.
Is there anything else you’d like to say about your experience with Ideal?
My Talent Scout was really fantastic in terms of walking me through the process and prepping me through texts and emails. My initial interview was a few days after my wife had a c-section and we kept rescheduling. I thought, “There was no way I can be ready to take on a new job,” and he reassured me, “Everything’s going to be fine, you still have some time.” His ability to stick with me was impressive – he executed it beautifully.
I felt comfortable, capable, even empowered the whole way through.
Thank you Paul for sharing your sales job success story!
