Commercial Lines Account Manager/Marketer


Manage Renewal portfolio
Analyze coverage, exposures and loss experience to determine policy requirements
Identify gaps & opportunities in coverage
Obtain renewal information from Producers or clients directly
Negotiate with underwriters & remarket existing business where necessary
Ensure all renewals, endorsements and changes are processed in a timely manner
Preparation of documentation including schedules of coverage

Market & Negotiate new business
Assist producers in preparation of submissions where necessary
Submit new business to markets and negotiate terms
Compare quote terms and premiums, make changes & recommendations
Preparation of documentation including proposals, binders

Process change requests, prepare endorsements

Invoicing New, Renewal business & Endorsements

Handling phone calls and emails in a timely and professional manner; clients, underwriters, interested parties

Issue Certificates of insurance when required

Ensure accurate record keeping

Maintain positive relationships with underwriters

Organize & schedule training opportunities with underwriters

Follow up abeyances and ensure all files are kept up to date

Investigate accounting discrepancies when they arise

Report claims to insurance companies


Minimum 3-5 years commercial lines account management and marketing experience

RIBO licensed, active and in good standing, CAIB/CIP an asset

Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance including commercial automobile, property, casualty

Experience with D&O, E&O an asset

Experience with CompuQuote an asset

Working or advanced knowledge of TAM & MS Office

Excellent time management & organizational skills, ability to multi-task

Ability to work with autonomy, self-starter, able to be professionally assertive

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

Takes initiative and responsibility, recognizes urgency when warranted
