About the role

Position Summary
Reporting to the National Enterprise Sales Manager, the Sales Representative will be responsible for capturing market opportunities and exceeding customer expectations. This position will achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling our full line of energy efficiency and HVAC products and services to existing and prospective customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Promote/sell/secure orders through a relationship-based approach
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales quota objectives by acquiring and retaining new customers
  • Generate new business in assigned territory or segment through lead follow up, prospecting, cold calling and networking
  • Demonstrate products/services to customers and assist them in selecting those best suited to their needs
  • Identify customer needs and utilize solution-based selling techniques to fully demonstrate the value of Sunwave’s Energy Efficiency and HVAC products and services
  • Build and demonstrate an understanding of the market and industry
  • Set up and make in person visits including presentations to existing and prospective customers
  • Develop clear and effective proposals and recommend solutions that are win-win
  • Coordinate sales efforts with marketing, sales management, accounting and operations
  • Plan and organize personal sales strategy by maximizing the return on time investment for the territory/segment
  • Supply management with verbal and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through reading of pertinent literature, attending workshops, etc
  • Participate in tradeshows and conventions

You bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2- 4 years proven outside commission sales experience
  • Excellent prospecting, cold-calling and customer service skills
  • Effective negotiating and closing skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to create presentations and sales proposals and to acquire mid to large size accounts
  • Knowledge of account development strategies
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability and desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced multi-faceted environment that requires a high degree of multi-tasking with minimal supervision
  • Effective use of PC including Microsoft office required
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft CRM highly desirable
