AI for Recruiting: News, Tips, and Trends

4 Clever Ways HR Chatbots Are Used Today

Gartner predicts that we’re going to have more conversations with chatbots than our spouse by 2020, just two short years away.

Chatbots are rapidly being embraced by organizations to fulfil time-consuming or repetitive administrative tasks.

One main reason is because chatbots have the potential to reduce business costs by more than $8 billion by 2022 according to Juniper Research. The other advantage of chatbots is their flexibility as they can be used over text and messaging apps, email, and through your company’s website.

Chatbots are already making a splash in HR, especially in recruiting. Organizations such as the U.S. Army, Georgia State University, and Sutherland are already using their own homegrown chatbots for their recruiting function. Continue reading

How AI Is Transforming Resume Matching Software

Resume matching software as it’s traditionally been used has hurt candidate engagement.

So how can you become more effective in your hiring – and use the right resume matching software – while not alienating candidates and harming your brand?

The problem with traditional resume matching

Resume matching software in its origin stages (i.e., older versions without artificial intelligence baked in) is essentially the same as old-school search engine optimization. The “matching” part is almost entirely based on keywords.

If a candidate got good at stuffing their resume with the right keywords, they would get past the technology and into human hands. Continue reading

The Big Value-Add AI Staffing Holds For Recruiters

There are two sides to most AI staffing discussions.

The first side is the business productivity one: 70% of staffing firm executives, for example, believe that AI staffing will play a role in improving recruitment.

Infosys completed a survey of 1,600 business and IT executives and most noted the potential of AI staffing, with 85% indicating they’d train employees on the benefits and uses of AI.

So that’s all good. There is legitimate potential for more recruiting productivity using AI staffing.

But the other side of the coin is the fearful one: if AI staffing truly gets to scale, will human recruiters be phased out? Continue reading

Artificial intelligence is gaining a lot attention in all areas of our lives including the workplace.

A Pew Research survey found that for U.S. adults who said they would want to apply for a job that used a computer program or algorithm to making hiring decisions, the #1 reason was because they believed it’d be more fair and less biased than humans.

Everything You Need To Know About SaaS Recruiting Software

SaaS (“software as a service”) recruiting software refers to on-demand software, whereby the database and features are hosted in the cloud.

It’s essentially the prevalent model of recruitment software delivery right now.

The benefits of SaaS recruiting software
Cost effectiveness: You save money because SaaS recruiting software doesn’t need IT infrastructure, maintenance, or staffing costs. All of that is handled by the provider and baked into your subscription cost, but said subscription cost is likely to be significantly less than the implementation and overhead costs of infrastructure and maintenance. “Hit the ground running:” You can import existing data fairly easily, and because you don’t need to install and implement the software yourself (the provider does it), you can be up and running in hours.
