About the role

The Partnership Lead will be responsible for connecting with our clients within the education sector to share our information security tools for usage in secondary and post-secondary learning environments. The Partnership Lead will also be highly involved with our Co-Founders, Director of Partnerships, and Outreach Lead to plan, execute, and monitor the achievement of annual sales targets.

Being a Shearwater Partnership Lead

The Partnership Lead will be expected to liaise between internal and external parties with the objective of building strong relationships. So the ability to communicate professionally to identify risk areas and provide security solutions to client leaders will be critical to success.

What You’ll Do as a Shearwater Partnership Lead

  • Inform prospective partners on the benefits of collaboration with Shearwater

  • Travel (up to 50%) to campuses and industry conferences to represent Shearwater

  • Help school partners define their security risks and develop solutions to mitigate threats

  • Write and present partnership proposals to targeted secondary and higher education institutions

  • Manage partnership pipeline with internal CRM systems to monitor quality and quantity of prospects

  • Participate in special marketing initiatives as needed to support internal programs for growth

What You’ll Bring as a Shearwater Partnership Lead

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Marketing, Sales, IT, or Business Development

  • At least 3 years of work experience in an outbound sales or business development role

  • Understanding of the education sector and principles of risk management

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to fulfill job requirements

  • Exposure to multicultural situations requiring tact and diplomacy (international travel, work/study abroad programs, fluency in other languages)
