About the role
The Financial Sales Representative – China will be working closely with partners on dealfacilitation,transaction execution and relationship management. In particular, the candidateis responsible for sourcing and executing deals that originate in Mainland China and/or thelocal Chinese community. The business developed by the candidate will assist Canadiancompanies to raise capital and Chinese companies and individuals to explore investmentswithin Ontario.Responsibilities: Develop connections from Mainland China on an individual and firm level in order tosource deals for Granite Tower Capital Research and evaluate the client’s financial status, references, credit rating andability to procure capital Assist clients by proposing solutions to address financial objectives such as businessexpansion, debt management, investment and other financial goals Participate in client meetings and business development planning sessions Create marketing documents targeting both Canadian and Chinese firms to use forbusiness development purposes Conducting comprehensive industry and company-specific research for the AsiaPacific Region Develop junior team members in terms of China market knowledge and expertiseTechnical requirements Previous experience in pitchbook drafting, financial modeling, company valuations,due diligence etc. In-depth understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and GAAS accounting frameworks Solid knowledge about the investment banking business, accounting, and corporatefinance; CPA (CA/CGA/CMA) designations are preferred Cross-border M&A transaction experience is a plus Working towards CFA/CBV is a plus Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and Thomson OneQualifications: Degree in finance or related discipline is required2 Strong interpersonal skills with ability to articulate ideas A good understanding of industry trends in the Asia-Pacific region Former corporate finance experience is preferred (M&A advisory, corporate banking,private banking, private equity etc.) Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an asset Ability to travel to China on a somewhat frequent basis is an assetCompensation:The successful candidate will be compensated at an annual base salary of $53,000-$55,000.The candidate will also receive a commission of 10-15% based on each successful clientinteraction and is eligible for a year-end performance based bonus.
