The role of Business Development Director (Canadian Government Team) will be responsible for driving new revenue opportunities and positioning our value proposition in the Federal and Provincial Governments of Canada. Revenue will be acquired through the development of new customer relationships, growing existing customer relationships, and securing opportunities through alliances.

Key Responisibilities

  • Maximize D&B’s presence in the market by cultivating the critical contacts to extend the relationship and build market awareness.
  • Responsible for supporting as needed with negotiating government contracts and participating in RFP processes.
    • Prepare and deliver high-level sophisticated presentations, as well as being an effective writer with skills to respond to a technical government request; in addition to a concise and impactful white paper
  • Remains knowledgeable of Canadian and global government trends and communicates this information to the Government Sales Team.
  • Provides strategic input and thought leadership to sales associates and leaders.
    • Effectively communicates with leadership and sales team regarding the sales process, including use of sales force automation tools.

 

Key Requirements

  • Significant and successful government sector experience in the capture of large ($1-10MM) engagements with the Canadian Federal government, preferably in areas such as business intelligence and analytics including the use of tools and data to support initiatives in those areas.
  •  Excellent negotiation, strong presentation skills, as well as written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships at a variety of levels both within D&B and with Partner organizations.
  •  Ability to work in a complex environment and on multiple projects.
  •  Track record of driving innovation and change – entrepreneurial experience a plus
  •  Demonstrated ability to support identification, nurturing, and closing large revenue opportunities of scale.
  •  Bachelor’s degree is preferred, MBA highly desirable
  •  This role is based in Ottawa.
  •  Ability to work in dynamic, results driven and fast pace culture.
  •  25-50% travel
