About the role

DataXu is looking for a driven, focused and high impact Account Executives to join our growing revenue team focusing on mid-market clients and their agencies. In this position, the Account Executive will be responsible for driving new business, growing existing business driving while maintaining overall satisfaction of clients. In this role, the Mid-Market Account Executive educates new clients on the benefits of DataXu’s technological capabilities and expertise and leverages industry knowledge to create demand and persuade through the creation and presentation of compelling purchasing rationales.


Day to Day at the ‘Xu

  • Develop strategic plan to achieve revenue goals; hit or exceed these revenue goals
  • Develop and maintain strong active relationships with key client stakeholders at both senior and mid-management levels
  • Understand agency, advertiser, data and vendor landscapes and trends, reporting these to the organization; who are the major players, how do they buy, from whom; what are the macro and micro forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction?
  • Understand and effectively communicate DataXu’s value proposition, technology, processes, partnerships as it relates to growth of current and prospective client accounts
  • Ideally has an in-depth knowledge of the industry and of the biddable media marketplace —past, present, and future
  • Plans, directs and coordinates sales activities, including management of the sales pipeline, for a defined territory
  • Leverages external relationships and personal network to generate sales leads for territory
  • Regularly involved in all phases of the sales lifecycle including:  identifying and developing leads; meeting with clients; developing value propositions; financial deal structuring; to contract negotiation and closing
  • Runs a robust and “smart” pipeline – continually re-evaluating opportunities cost/ROI of DX prospects
  • Ensures all targeted prospect/client contacts and engagement opportunities are recorded in Salesforce.com
  • Responsible for managing demand and quickly “qualifying” opportunities.

  • Builds a reputation for success and sets an example other mid-market sellers should emulate
  • Proven sales skills in complex deal development, financial structuring, negotiations and closing new and existing clients
  • Has responsibility and is accountable for Win/Loss reviews on new accounts   

About You…

  • Bachelor’s Degree require
  • Experience in other SaaS models with knowledge of digital advertising business (preferably ad serving, data, exchanges, SaaS or SEM)
  • Knowledge of the online media business and underlying technology – how it works, how money is made
  • Excellent sales skills including the ability to create and build relationships
  • Demonstrated track record of success and established relationships
  • Strong analytical and consultative skills
  • Effective time management skills – ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Diligent work ethic. Must be self-motivated and able to take the initiative to get the job done. Ability to work in a remote office
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to make frequent travel on the West Coast
