WIDEsystem IS the scanner driver, and it HAS to
be loaded on the PC BEFORE connecting the scanner |
WIDEsystem installs drivers compatible with
Microsoft's STI Still Image Interface (like Cameras and scanners) |
The tutorial was tailored to Windows XP but the
Windows 2000 Installation is very similar |
Insert
the WIDEsystem Tools CD and wait for the setup wizard to load |
If the CD doesn’t load automatically browse to
the WS folder on the CD, and run Setup.exe |
Start the WIDEsystem installation |
Accept the license agreement and click Next |
Click OK for English |
Click Next to start the installation |
Click Next to accept the default installation
location or browse to change it |
WIDEsystem will display the installation
progress |
It is important that you choose YES for “Run
WIDEsystem at startup since WIDEsystem needs to be loaded BEFORE the
scanner is connected to the PC. |
You have to restart the PC before connecting
your Firewire or USB scanner for the first time, so click on Finish to
restart your PC |
Once the PC has restarted, the WIDEsystem icon
will appear on the taskbar |
You can now connect your Firewire or USB scanner
to the PC |
At this point the New Hardware Wizard should
prompt you that it found your scanner. Click Next to continue with the
Automatic installation |
Click on the Continue Anyway option for the
Windows Signature box |
Windows will display the installation progress |
Click the Finish button to complete your
installation |
Congratulations, you’ve completed the
installation! |
